Help protect the Polar Bears .
Shell is planning to drill for oil in the Arctic, potentially (and very likely) destroying the habitat that so many depend on .

Dear Mr. Voser,
I understand that your company is intending to start oil exploration in Alaska, beginning this summer.
I ask you please to consider the consequences of this venture. The fate of the Arctic affects the fate of the world; it is a place we have to protect for the benefit of the entire planet. Experts have expressed serious doubts about the possibility of cleaning up an oil spill in the Arctic; as an experienced businessman in this field, I’m sure you’re aware of the near-impossibility of restoring the environment after an event like this, and the utter devastation it would cause. The technical challenges posed by drilling there are obvious and though you may believe your company can operate safely in such a harsh environment, the risk to the habitat and ecosystem is enormous. The only real guarantee is no drilling.
It is time for your company to look at other options. We were not put on this planet to destroy it. Money only lasts until it’s gone, or until we die; the Earth will be here forever. That is unless people, or groups of people in money-hungry companies, end its life early. It is time we started truly respecting this planet that allows us to live on it.
I request and plead that you scrap your Arctic plans immediately. I ask Shell to stop putting short-term profits ahead of the health and wellbeing of the planet we share.
I understand you have a business to run, but I am also confident that there are other ways, and simply suggest that perhaps your company is not really looking for them.
